Traffic is one of the biggest concerns I hear from residents. With Costco expected to open next year, traffic volumes will increase significantly. We need to be proactive and ensure our road network can handle that growth safely and efficiently. One of my top priorities is continuing to advocate for an interchange at Pipeline Road and the Perimeter Highway. This intersection is a major safety concern and has been for years. In Ward 1, drainage remains another major issue. Many of our older neighbourhoods require a comprehensive drainage strategy, and I will continue pushing for long-term solutions rather than temporary fixes.

I have lived in West St. Paul for twenty years, and I understand the frustration residents experience when the same drainage problems remain unsolved. I want a proper assessment of deficiencies, regular ditch maintenance and a prioritized plan to complete necessary improvement. Road conditions and traffic safety are also important, especially as new development increases traffic. Council must ensure roads, wastewater systems and other infrastructure can support future growth. My approach is simple: identify the problems, establish priorities, allocate funding responsibly and follow through until measurable improvement are made.

My priorities are road safety, traffic flow, drainage, and infrastructure that keeps pace with growth. Whistler Hollow: Work with the Province to pursue a traffic-light solution. With only one entrance and exit, we should act proactively, not wait for something bad to happen. Costco & future growth: Plan alternative road connections through Meadowlands to help distribute traffic and prevent Rossmere from becoming overly congested. Drainage: Ensure ditches along Griffin Way and adjacent developments are properly cleaned and maintained. Long-term infrastructure: Require growth to contribute fairly to the infrastructure demands it creates while planning ahead for the entire municipality. We need to plan for growth today, not fix problems tomorrow.
